Check Out State Parks.  Did you know that you can check out a state parks backpack with a free day use pass from your local library?  Explore the three state parks in Delta County or any one of the many Colorado State Parks by using your library card to check out a backpack.  Backpacks check out for one week on a first come, first served basis.  Contact your local library for more information.

Sponsor Kids for the 2018 Summer Reading Program.  Delta County Libraries is already gearing up for the 2018 Summer Reading Program! This year’s theme is Libraries Rock!  We are always looking for more support for this community-sustained program.  Contact your local library or visit us online at under “Summer Reading” then “2018 Summer Reading” to learn more and sponsor local kids for the program.


Storytime for Babies, Tots, and Preschoolers at the Cedaredge Library. Thursdays starting at 10:30am. Parents and Tots are invited to participate in a reading time together. Contact the Library at 399-7674 for details

USB Flash Drives. Learn how to safely store and manage files on your USB flash drive! Patrons are encouraged to bring their own devices and flash drive. Friday, April 27 from 10:30am to 11:30am.

HopeWest: It’s All About Life.  Presenter Nancy Hovde will talk about programs offered by HopeWest, including children’s programs.  Hosted by the Friends of the Cedaredge Library.  Refreshments and the regular meeting will follow the presentation.  Thursday, May 10 at 2:00pm.

Google Basics.  Participants will learn how to set up and use a Google Account. Everything from Picasa to Gmail will be covered.  Friday, May 11 at 10:30am.  Please call 399.7674 for details and to sign up.

April StoryWalk®. Groovy Joe is having a dance party. But, oh no! More and more doggies are knocking on his door, asking to come in. Will there be enough room for everyone? The April StoryWalk® on the Surface Creek Trail is Groovy Joe: Dance Party Countdown written by Eric Litwin and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld. Visit Cedaredge Library after your walk for activities and books related to the story.  Pick up a musical take home craft!  Contact Cedaredge Library for more details at 399.7674.

Seed Packet Maker Space. Make a simple, eco-friendly gift!  Seed packets made from craft paper, scrap paper, fabric, and more!  All month long at Cedaredge Library.

Crafts Group. Crafters meet every Tuesday at 10:00am to share ideas and show & tell.

Tech Soup Saturday.  Bring your devices and your questions. Our expert “techies” will do their best to answer your questions.  Every Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Genealogy. Who’s Who in Whoville?  Find out who you really are!  The first Friday of every month from 10:30am to 12:00pm.

Crochet Club. For beginners and old pros!  Come and learn or come and teach!  Bring your own yarn and hooks.  Every Friday at 10:00am at Crawford Library.

Scrapbooking. Join friends at Crawford Library and get you pictures and other treasured items in your scrapbook.  The first Monday of every month at 11:00am.

Tech Help. Librarians will be available to help you with questions and problems about computers or mobile devices. Wednesday through Saturday by appointment. Contact the Library at 399-7783 for details.

Blackout Poetry.  Teens are invited to the Delta Library after school to learn how to do blackout poetry! There will be snacks and tons of fun!  Thursday, April 26 at 4:30pm.

Family Gardening Workshop.  Colorado Master Gardner Kathleen Ray will guide participants through open discussion on soil amendments and composting.  She will share gardening tips direct from the CSU Extension and will help participants discover how to journal their experience and how to create a garden space, whether in a single pot or larger area. Please bring a journal or notebook, a pen, colored pencils (optional) and an open mind!  Saturday, May 5 at 11:00am.  Call 874.9630 for more information and to sign up.

Tech Information Station. Delta Library offers an open information station in the conference room for all ages and skill levels to seek technical assistance with computers and tablets. Attendees will also receive an introduction to utilizing library databases for online classes.  Monday, May 7 at 4:00pm.

Friends of the Delta Library Meeting.  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend!  Wednesday, May 9 at 3:00pm.

Plant a Seed Maker Space.  Plant a seed in a cup and watch it sprout as it develops into a plant.  All month long in April during library hours.

Who Hatches Scavenger Hunt. Locate different eggs in the children’s area, crack the egg to discover what creature hatches.  All month long in April during library hours.

Teen Game Night.  Board games and card games will be available in the teen area every Wednesday night at 4:00pm.

Genealogy 1-on-1.  Get the help you need researching your genealogy in this on-going class taught by Mickey Watts!  Meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:00pm.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts that get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome. Mondays at 5:30pm.

Spring Book Sale. The Hotchkiss Library Friends annual book sale happens during the Sheep Dog Trials.  Offering great prices on a wide variety of materials.  All proceeds go to the Hotchkiss Library.  Friday, May 11 from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday, May 12 from 9:00am to 3:00pm

Exploratory Art Class. Local art teacher Natalie Haines will provide a guided art activity for children age 3-5 and their parent or guardian.  Bring your own snack and clothes to paint in.  Space limited to 10 children.  Sign up at Paonia Library.  Every Friday from 3:45pm to 4:45pm starting January 26 through May 18.

Tech Café.  Paonia Library will have an open Tech Cafe in the Community Room for all ages and skill levels to seek tech assistance.  Every Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00pm.

ESL Classes. Distance Learning Program.  Do you need your high school equivalency but are unable to attend classes? Delta County Libraries now has a distance-learning program that offers participants the ability to work from home with an online program to prepare for the test.  Contact Gail at for more information.
